Research repositories throughout Virginia offer genealogists opportunities to put flesh on the bones of their ancestors, as well as the opportunity to break through brick walls in their family research. VGS governor Kate Parker has compiled articles on over 40 statewide, local, and regional repositories throughout the state. Each article includes contact information, hours available for research, collection holdings, and recommended preparation before a visit.
These articles will be posted on the web site in groups. While at present there are over 40 repositories, the list may grow over time and any new articles will be added as they are received. To access these articles go to Research Aids at the top of the home page and scroll down to “Libraries, Special Collections, Archives and Repositories”. Links will be activated when articles are available. Notification of new articles will be through our Google groups.
