Description
A Northern Neck county, Middlesex lies between the Rappahannock and Piankatank rivers. It’s bordered on the north by Essex County and on the south by the Chesapeake Bay. Created in 1674 from Lancaster County it, unlike most Virginia counties, had no further border changes. The marriage bonds and ministers’ returns are, of course, not complete. For the years 1768, 1769, 1770, 1771, and 1841 no records exist. vi + 141 pp., paper; (1999).
